Single Leg Amputee promising player, Foday James Lumeh has signed a two-years contract with Sanlifura Eyyubiye Amputee Football team in Turkey.
Lumeh is a member of the Single Leg Amputee Sports Association (SLASA) which represents Sierra Leone in international tournaments.
“I want to change the mind set of Sierra Leoneans who thinks it’s only the able body can represent the Country as professional players. The contract means that once able body footballers are representing Sierra Leone me too can represent the Country and change the narrative,” he stated.
Lumeh has become the first professional amputee player in the history of amputee team of Sierra Leone.
“I am calling on the Government of Sierra Leone and other partners to come on board to support the Amputee football in the Country as this is a clear indication that we can do what the able body people are doing, but it’s only when we have the support from them.
