In preparation for the Division Two playoff, Sierra FC, a topflight Division Two side on Tuesday, 30th November defeated Premier League side FC Kallon by three goals to two (3-2) at the Kallon playing field at Angola Town.
It was the visitor, Sierra FC who broke the deadlock in the 8th minutes of play when Anthony Monrovia score for his side to take the lead. In the 20th minutes however, FC Kallon levelled the score, raising tension between the two sides for want of a lead before the break. The teams endeavored through tactical moves and individual skills displays but none could record a goal in spite of desperation by both sides in need of a goal and a lead before the whistle signaled the end of the first half.
During the Second Half of play, Sierra FC came out more determined to register two quick goals from Mukeh Charles and Abu Kamara (Banjah) from the Youth Team to take the score to 3-1 in the favor of Sierra FC. The visitor continued to dominate most part of the match, but as the game drew closer to end time, host, FC Kallon scored a consolation to take the match 3-2 against the host.
According to the Technical Director of Sierra FC, Coach Sam Ngobeh, his boys were very impressive in their collective and individual performances. He went on to assure the management and fans of Sierra FC of his Boys’ qualification to the First Division during the playoff.
Coach Ngobeh acclaimed his side’s victory owing it to their focus and determination. He said his boys were challenged by their host, FC Kallon who he accused of filling in Division One and Premier League players during the match. He therefore appealed to the management of Sierra FC to accord his boys more friendly encounters in other to maintain the high spirit, focus and determination of the team ahead of the playoff.
